The Rose and the Wellington II - 2016 - Acrylic on Canvas - 40" x 40"

The beige coloured background is to look like a page from a book. Onto this I brush- stroked with a dark colour, French text taken and written exactly from the book "L'Histoire de Babar - le petit elephant."White washes were then applied to push the text back further into the background. Two stylized red roses, one brighter than the other, are painted centre bottom, over which is a schematic drawing of sections of the tail, wing and body of a Wellington bomber.

This painting has been chosen as the invitation piece for my exhibition- A War Story - currently installed at St. James Anglican Church, Dundas On, from November 6 - 30th, 2016.
